This was a very simple meal. It was also very solid. The food was fresh and the portions more than adequate. It consisted of wonton soup and moo gai pan.

I've been going to Szechuan Delight for however many years that they've been open, which I'm guessing is over 20 years. It's a standard dine-in Chinese restaurant. There's nothing exceptional about the setting, but they make a particular dish that is exceptional, and I've never come across it anywhere else in NYC, and I have definitely tried. My standing order is Crispy Fish with brown rice and a side of broccoli sautéed in fresh garlic... it's perfection... if Anthony Bordain was still alive, I would campaign to get him to try it... it's that good... the fish is an entire grouper deep fried and served over a garlic ginger sauce with peas and carrots... I'm not sure if the broccoli the way I order it is even on the menu... it could be that my order is so consistent that they just prepare it that way for me. Friends have gone on their own, and they've gotten a brown garlic sauce. My 9-year-old nephew, who was a typical vegetable-hating child, loved it. Be patient. It takes about 20 minutes because it's made to order. Don't order it to go. The packaging reduces its crispness. I've hosted multiple dinner parties there over the years, and my guests have always loved it. Please note that if they can't find good-sized fish at the market, they won't buy them. Yes, I now call in advance to see if they have it. If you can't get it on the day you arrive, try their coconut curry soup. It's also excellent. Enjoy.

Szechuan Delight is a wonderful restaurant with exceptional service. My order was absolutely delicious, made fresh to order, and the restaurant location is great for people watching. I'm definitely visiting Szechuan Delight often from now on, and you should too!

Fancy Chinese takeout place is a good way to describe it. This is highly westernized Chinese food - but it's good! Thank you for having so many vegetarian/vegan options. There is an entire page on the menu dedicated to vegetables, tofu, and fake meat. Solid spot for vegetarian general Tso's chicken, though don't expect it (or any other dish marked "hot") to actually be spicy. Despite the name, there's no hint of Sichuan cuisine here at all. The best thing on the menu might have been it's random Southeast Asia-inspired addition: the hand pulled noodles in a vegetable coconut curry broth! Flavorful, warming, and packed with veggies. And they say the perfect meal doesn't exist

This place is more like a fancier version of a Chinese takeout restaurant. I went on a Wednesday for dinner at around 7PM and were seated promptly as they were not busy. Opted for their dinner combination platter (wonton soup, shrimp with mixed vegetables). The portion was humongous! I was getting already full after the soup and the egg roll. The shrimp and mixed vegetables was really good. Highly recommend getting that if you like shrimp. Service was good and the staff was friendly. The price is decent for the area and the amount of food. Overall, good place. Will come back.
